We spoke to author and physicist Aaron Santos about his new book, How Many Licks.
Have you ever wondered how many calories are in the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? How many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? How long it would take to dig your way to China using a spoon?
Aaron knows. Approximately.

Fred, we’re absolutely on the same page. Listen to this week’s show. ;)

I know this is the wrong show, but I’m not really interested in discussing copyright issues, so I’m not going to send you an email … Which leaves me with posting a comment here …
It would be nice if you could post a list of the songs you played on the “nerd music” show.

IF such a playlist existed, it would include:
1. She Blinded Me With Science – Thomas Dolby
2. Nerdcore Rising – MC Frontalot featuring Jesse Dangerously and MC Hawking
3. Still Stupid – AOK (Assault of Knowledge)
4. If I Didn’t Have You (Live) – Tim Minchin
5. A Glorious Dawn – Carl Sagan A Glorious Dawn
6. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt. 1 – The Flaming Lips
7. Science Genius Girl (hi-phive Mix) – Freezepop
8. Your Attitude Towards Cuttlefish – Paper Moon
9. I Love The Things That People Make – The Burning Hell
10. Galaxy Song – Monty Python

IF such a playlist existed, and IF there was an audio version available for download for a limited time, I MIGHT have snagged a copy.
If I had, I would DEFINITELY be willing to share a copy, if anybody wanted one. Get me by email at swagger.factor {AT} gmail, and I CAN hook you up.

Ernst, you might want to check out the Skeptics Mix here:

Wait, did I hear that there was another skeptic radio show in Western Canada? Is there a weblink to download its podcast?
As far as Vancouver versus Edmonton, I will be torn in loyalty… since I have relatives in both provinces!
I am not surprised that more BC radio stations have picked up Skeptically Speaking, it is woo central, even Nelson! There needs to be an anecdote to the woo… good cheer and luck to those who go against the crowd! (when I first had a digital camera, I actually missed the opportunity to shoot a photo of a iridology/T-shirt shop in a little strip mall on Vancouver Island, rats!)
And, yes, I know Daniel Loxton (see music link) lives there, right near some of our more credulous relatives.

Hey Chris, there sure is another Skeptical podcast in western Canada! Radio Freethinker is broadcast out of CiTR in Vancouver. You can download the podcasts at http://feeds.feedburner.com/Citr–RadioFreethinkers
Or on Itunes.
