Journalist and author Vanessa Woods joins us to discuss her new book Bonobo Handshake. The memoir takes us inside Lola Ya Bonobo Sanctuary, a refuge for orphaned baby bonobos in the Congo. What can studying these highly social primates tell us about ourselves?
And science blogger Greg Laden joins us for Everything You Know Is Sort of Wrong, a new regular feature exposing the truth behind some commonly held beliefs. Our first segment: Primitive Cultures.

A great episode! Greg Laden’s segment was, as you’d hoped, thought provoking. He is a guest that I always feel lucky to have caught on a podcast. Ms. Woods was a true delight to listen to and the two of you seemed to have so much fun with the interview! It was a real shame that the show seemed to end so abruptly with what I imagine to be so much left unsaid….

This was definitely an episode where I would have been happy to have another hour.
As for Greg, he’ll be back every month or so with a new topic for people to argue about. :)
